GREENVILLE – The Greenville Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a domestic situation at 517 Pine St. in Greenville.
According to dispatch, they received a call reporting a physical altercation between Raul Dean (34) and his mother. It was also reported that Dean attempted to set a fire inside the residence.
Upon the arrival of officers and firefighters, they did smell smoke, but no fire was detected and the mother was uncooperative when questioned by officers.

Officers went back inside and located Dean behind a false wall inside the basement. When officers told Dean he needed to come out, he replied “If I am coming out, I am going to be coming out shooting.” Dean finally complied with the officers’ orders after approximately five minutes of negotiating with the fugitive.
Dean was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Darke County Jail. According to jail records, he is currently still incarcerated.
