MARION, Ind. – On March 23, The Foutz Foundation donated a Fender Electric Guitar to the Music Therapy Service at Northern Indiana VA Hospital in Marion, Ind.

The guitar was received by Leslie A. Crockett, MT-BC, Guitars 4 Vets VA Liaison, Chapter 37, in memory of Staff Sergeant Jerry Lynn Honeycutt of Marion, IN, who was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Jerry passed away at the Marion VA Hospital on December 1, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

Staff Sgt. Honeycutt also loved music. His family is positive that he would be thrilled to learn of this donation. While a patient in the hospital, he received palliative care music therapy, through music and song singing, from Ms. Crockett.

The Foundation has now awarded over $15,000 in instruments to various individuals and organizations. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded after the passing of Travis Foutz in 2017. Music was his passion, and it is their goal to make sure that every child can share the same passion and love for music.
