Fort GreeneVille DAR receives awards

GREENVILLE – Fort GreeneVille Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution was recently recognized for their accomplishments in 2025 at the annual Ohio Daughters of the American Revolution State Convention. The chapter received the following awards and recognition:

America History Committee, Fort GreeneVille chapter for excellence and celebrating commemorating and promoting American history.

DAR/SAR/SR Relations committee recognizes Fort GreeneVille chapter for outstanding joint activity for the fourth-grade Pioneer Days.

Project Patriot committee recognizes Fort GreeneVille chapter for outstanding chapter support 2nd place.

Project Patriot committee recognizes Deborah Nisonger and Penelope Weaver for outstanding chapter DAR project patriot committee co-chairs 1st Place.

Cherry Blossom chapter award was presented to Fort Greenville chapter for achieving Cherry Blossom chapter status.

DAR Service for Veterans committee recognizes Fort GreeneVille chapter for outstanding Wreaths across America support, the highest volume of Wreaths sponsored.

DAR Service for Veterans committee recognizes Debbie Nisonger for Fort Greenville chapter for support of DAR Quilt of Valor committee (Virginia Kagey assisted with this project).

Certificate of recognition presented to Fort GreeneVille chapter for outstanding veteran support.

Fort GreeneVille chapter is awarded for obtaining the Constitution Week proclamations.

Fort GreeneVille chapter is awarded for sharing the Constitution Week minutes.

Volunteer Information Specialist committee recognizes Debbie Nisonger for public relations technology and Annette Stewart for social media outreach.

Ohio State Society conservation committee recognizes Fort Greeneville chapter for excellence in conservation.

Commemorative Events Committee recognizes Fort GreeneVille chapter for the best entry for Ohio Highway dedication commemorations.

Commemorative Events Committee recognizes Fort GreeneVille chapter for the best 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence event.

OSDAR State Honor Roll Certificate of Award presented to Fort GreeneVille chapter with first place for chapters with 51 to 100 members.

Several of the chapter’s activities went on to National district judging, for which the results will be announced at a later date.

Also at the state convention, Fort GreeneVille Chapter presented a check to State Regent Christina Eberst Nehring with a donation to sponsor a service dog for an Ohio Veteran. Nehring served in the US Air Force for 20 years, is a member of Fort GreeneVille Chapter, and is currently leading Ohio as the state regent.

During her three-year term as state regent, her Veterans Project is to sponsor service dogs for Veterans in Ohio. She is currently fostering a service puppy named Ember for Angel Paws before the puppy goes into extensive service training.

Fort GreeneVille Chapter would like to thank all those who donated to such a worthy cause: Fort GreeneVille members, VFW Post 7262 and Post 3288, American Legion Post 140, DAV Chapter #57, Memory of Gerald Subler by the Subler Family, and anonymous donors. Also, a thank you to all the community support, which makes Fort GreeneVille Chapter successful and a worthy representative of the Darke County area.
