GREENVILLE – The Veterans building located on the grounds of the Great Darke County Fair received a facelift and new displays for the upcoming 2024 fair.

“We welcome all to come in and visit our Veterans building,” said Jim Kammer, Ansonia American Legion Post 353. “We are very proud of our displays.”

The Fort GreeneVille Daughters of the American Revolution have contributed a large part to the building, with monetary donations for the beautiful display cases for the many military uniforms on display.

“Our uniforms used to just hang on the wall,” Kammer stated. “Dean Delk built display cases for the uniforms.”

Also new to the Veterans building is the large Wall of Honor sign, “Honoring Community Heroes | Thanks for Your Service” that has been added to the displays.

“Everything is Dean Delk’s design,” noted Kammer. “He has done a fantastic, beautiful job, and we thank the Daughters of the American Revolution for helping.”

“We have so many sponsors to thank,” Kammer added. “Lowes has donated so much material and labor,   their employees came and helped us do this project. We thank the fair board for allowing us to do this and leave our displays here year-round. Many other donors helped. Boyd Cleaners donated to clean the uniforms. “

The Veterans building is air-conditioned, allowing for a comfortable time to view the many displays.

“Come in and cool off,” Kammer concluded. “Everyone is welcome to come in and rest.”
