DARKE COUNTY – On Tuesday at approximately 1:43 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Osgood Fire and Rescue responded to 8584 Day Road for a reported explosion with a person trapped.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there was not an explosion, but a small fire was discovered inside a shop area of the family-owned farm where an 84-year-old male, identified as Kenneth J. H. Dirksen, was found deceased.
This incident is under investigation with the assistance of the Darke County Coroner’s Office and the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
