GREENVILLE – Many gathered to celebrate Eagles Landing Farm and Venue ribbon cutting on Friday afternoon. The restoration and rebuilding process began in 2023.

Many people were responsible for making this dream become a reality, including architecture by Mote & Associates and construction by Wayne Douglas and Crew. The original barn owner, Steve Rader was also included.

“Tim had a dream and a vision. This was a project that Tim wanted to do. He saw a
need in Darke County for a venue,” explained Rachel Neal, President of the Chamber of Commerce.

The original barn was built in the 1900s and has been located on Gettysburg-Pitsburg Road for over 100 years. The barn was gifted to the Burns family in 2015. They began to take apart the barn over a seven-year duration. Fortunately, all pieces of the barn were salvaged and used in the restoration process and can be found throughout the new venue.

“This has been a long journey for all of us, especially my family,” said Tim Burns, Owner. “It’s been an ongoing project for seven years when we took the original barn down to do the rebuild.”

On the venue outside of the barn, you will also find a rustic box car, functioning as a groom suite. The box car was previously used for hauling U.S. troops into WW1 and WW2. The Dayton and Union Rail Road Company ran along the backside of the property which adds tons of historical value.

“It’s a special project for me,” explained Burns. “This barn sits on my mom and dad’s original farm. I’m sure they’re proud of what’s happened here.”

Some other historical traits you may find is the chandelier that came from a hotel in Indianapolis. The arched pane window came from Cleveland, Ohio. The wood oak front came from an old church in Columbus and many more amazing historical pieces.

This venue is a fully functional barn that is able to be used year-round not just for weddings. Owners encourage use for meetings, celebration of life memorials, and much more.

Owners also encourage people to book sooner rather than later, as the venue is being booked at a very rapid pace. If interested, you may call or visit their website to book.

The Owners and family want to once again thank everyone who made this restoration project possible, and their dream come to life. They look forward to what they can offer and are excited about where this new venue takes them.
