PREBLE COUNTY – Two arrests have been made as a result of a short-term drug investigation into suspected trafficking of methamphetamine.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on January 8th on U.S. 35 near West Alexandria. An Eaton PD K-9 conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle, and a positive alert was indicated.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Based on the investigation and traffic stop, a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s
residence at 113 West Oak Street in West Alexandria. In that search, deputies located multiple distribution baggies, a scale and other drug paraphernalia associated with the suspect.
Deputies arrested and formally charged Eaton Municipal Court, Brett D. Marker, age 38 of West Alexandria, with the following offenses:
– Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a 2nd Degree Felony
– Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a 2nd Degree Felony
– Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a 3rd Degree Felony
– Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a 4th Degree Misdemeanor.
During the execution of the search warrant, deputies located less than three grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in a room determined to belong to Carl Reckers, who also resides at the residence.
Reckers, age 58, was also arrested and formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court with the following offenses:
– Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a 5th Degree Felony
– Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a 4th Degree Misdemeanor.
Rockers remains in the Preble County Jail, where bond has been set.
