GREENVILLE—Just before the holidays, Darke County Veteran Services (DCVS) put up their new sign.

The new sign is essential to their overall goal of reaching all of Darke County.

“Our goal is to reach all of the veterans in Darke County,” Tom Pitman, Veterans Service Officer said. “Television advertising is really expensive, and some of the other counties do that already. The initial investment is a significant investment, but it’s at a location where basically everyone that is coming through Greenville can see it.”

They chose the sign because allows for rotating digital messages to be displayed.

“We wanted something where we could change it on our own, and update as needed,” he said. “We felt that would probably be the best way to communicate with the veterans, so they can come in and access any VA benefits that they’re eligible for.”

It was paid for with DCVS county funds.
