DARKE COUNTY – Darke County Parks invites the community to the annual Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 7th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bish Discovery Center, 404 N. Ohio Street in Greenville.

This year’s event features a lineup of outstanding native plant vendors, including Down Nature’s Path, The Milkweed Patch, Native Ohio Plants, and Local Lush Native Nursery, LLC.

These vendors will be offering a wide variety of native flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, you’ll find everything you need to transform your outdoor space with the beauty and benefits of native plants.

The Native Plant Sale will offer a variety of native plants, plus more! Guests can enjoy live music by Danny Schnieble, shop from a selection of nature-themed artisan vendors, and savor a delicious lunch from the JenFit & Fresh food truck. Knowledgeable staff will be available to assist with plant selection and offer guidance on creating sustainable native gardens. Attendees are also encouraged to explore the Bish Discovery Center’s educational exhibits highlighting sustainability, conservation, and outdoor recreation.

“People often ask me what they can do to help the environment. A good place to start is by planting native plants,” said Megan Hammaker, Special Events Coordinator for Darke County Parks. “Native plants promote a healthy ecosystem by providing essential food and habitat for pollinators, birds, and other species.”

Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss this opportunity to bring the beauty of Ohio’s native plants to your own backyard!
