DARKE COUNTY – On April 28, the Darke County Holstein 4-H club held their April meeting at Kellers Feed Mill at 8:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order and members were reminded to pay dues. We had 10 teams doing trash bash cleaning up county roads. 4-H camp will be June 24-28 at Indian Hills 4-H Camp, all registrations must be in by June 7th.
We decided to sponsor 2 trophies for the fair, Reserve Grand Champion Holstein and Grand Champion Dairy Feeder. We also decided to have a booth at the fair.
Darke County Communications Contest will be on June 3rd at 6:30 in the Extension Office. The registration deadline is May 31 at 4:30 PM. Jr. Fair exhibitors need to complete the form to get their Jr. Fair Passes. These need to be filled out by the end of the day on July 29th. We are also selling Fair tickets.
Our next meeting will be on May 19th and members will be doing demonstrations. We then had a speaker from Select Sires.
