D’Arleen (Moody) Waymire, age 90, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia, passed away at 1:55 am Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
D’Arleen was born May 15, 1933, in Darke County to the late Clark Leroy & Laura (Shook) Moody. She was also preceded in death by her husband, JC Waymire, on January 17, 2016, whom she married June 9, 1950; great-grandson, Austin Waymire; and brothers & sisters-in-law, Lee & Beatrice Moody Jr., Harry & June Moody, James Moody, and Dan & Becky Moody.
D’Arleen is survived by her children, Steve & Kathy Waymire of Ansonia, Deb & Rick Rose of Ansonia and Sandy & Danny Garber of Arcanum; grandchildren, Todd (Sherry) Waymire, Mike (Jennifer) Waymire, Angie (Ron) Drees, Darick (Ashley) Rose, Jessica (Bill) Cannady, and Kimberlee (fiancé, Terry Murphy) Bloom; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gail Moody of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
D’Arleen owned and operated D’Arleen’s Flowers in Ansonia for many years. She was a former member of the Ansonia Order of Eastern Star.
A celebration of D’Arleen’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
