DARKE COUNTY = On September 6, at approximately 1149 P.M. Darke County Deputies, along with Arcanum Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, New Madison Fire, and CareFlight responded to the 3700 Block of McNutt Road in reference to a single-vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Blue 2013 Ford Taurus, driven by Lillie Shellabarger (19) of Arcanum was traveling northwest on McNutt Road. Shellabarger drove left of center and overcorrected her vehicle, sliding into a bean field. Once off the roadway, the vehicle rolled, coming to a rest on its top. While the vehicle was rolling, the passenger, Lily Shuttleworth (19) of Pitsburg, was ejected from the vehicle.
Shellabarger was transported to Wayne Hospital and Shuttleworth was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. All injuries are non-life-threatening.
This accident remains under investigation.
