DARKE COUNTY – Last week, 25 local middle school students gathered at the Greenville Career Tech Center for the annual Darke County STEAM Camp, a hands-on experience introducing students to exciting careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Math (STEAM).
The week-long camp gave students a behind-the-scenes look at some of Darke County’s most innovative businesses through tours, interactive activities, and a team-based entrepreneurship project. Students developed real-world skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and public speaking, culminating in a “Shark Tank”-style business pitch on the final day.
“STEAM Camp was an incredible experience — it was inspiring to see the kids explore new career paths and dive into hands-on activities at local businesses. Watching their curiosity come to life in real-world settings was truly rewarding,” said Erica Byers, Camp Facilitator.
