Darke County Sheriff’s Office : Traffic Stop Led to Drug Discovery

On June 27, 2023, at approximately 8:46 p.m., Darke County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black Buick Lacrosse after running the registration and discovering the vehicle was supposed to be brown. The traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of N. Main St and Seminole Ln, Arcanum, Ohio.

Upon speaking with the occupants, an odor of marijuana was observed by the deputy coming from within the vehicle. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered none of the occupants had a valid driver’s license. A probable cause search was conducted, which resulted in suspected cocaine and fentanyl being located on the driver’s person. The driver was identified as Michael Brown (37) of Greenville, Ohio.

Mr. Brown was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, and tampering with evidence.
