DARKE COUNTY – On February 24, 2025 Darke County Holstein 4-H Club held its monthly meeting.
We ate pizza first, then proceeded with the meeting. We thanked Matt and Morgan Aultman for the pizza. We welcomed our new 4-H members, Chloe Stammen and Nolan Henry. We also welcomed our new cloverbuds, Jace Stammen and Autumn Cook. We went over 4-H enrollment. Then we went over that Cooper Farms is donating five free turkey poults to interested 4-H members. Also, Ohio 4-H week is March 3rd through the 9th. Cloverbuds made posters to promote our club.
We talked about County Recognition and the members receiving awards for achievement are Addison Miller, Maria Schmitmyer, and Tabitha Schmitmyer. Leadership awards are going to Leah Homan, Sophia Aultman, and Allison Francis.
On March 8th Karen Stanley, our 4-H advisor, will be recognized in Columbus and at County Recognition. We will be setting up a booth at the Club Showcase to promote our club.
Our club is donating two door prizes for the silent auction. March 4th is the skating party at 805 Skate Place in Greenville. Lease Agreements are due April 5th. Quality Assurance test out dates are March 25th and 27th and April 2nd at 3 pm. Quality Assurance dates are April 9th, 15th, 24th, and May 22nd at 7 pm at Birchwood Training center. The club decided to pay for County Fees. We went over how many teams we have for trash bash and adjourned.
After the meeting, we had Quality Assurance with Mercedes Mcfarland.
