Darke County Gets New Coroner

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners met on May 19, 2026, for the regular public session starting at 9.30 a.m. All Commissioners were present. The reading of the minutes from May 14th was first and approved, and the examination and allowance of bills for May 14th and May 19th were next. The General Fund total was $21,834.24. The Outside General funds were $119,777.69, and the total was $141,602.03, both of which were approved.

A Notice of Award was given to Henry W. Bergman, INC. for the Apron and Taxi-lane Project at the airport. The award for $256,390.00 included the Base Bid, and alternates No. 1 and No. 2.

A Letter of Resignation from Susan Brown, the part-time coroner, was accepted and will be effective on May 22nd. Then, a letter of agreement between the Commissioners and Dr. Russell Uptegrove, the Warren County Coroner since 2007, was accepted. It is effective starting May 23rd.

Adult probation had an expense request for James Mollette, Lauren Moore, Randy Barnett, Kelsey Monnin, Kira Burton, Mike Albright, and John Tabler to attend the 2026 Line Officer Training class. The training takes place at the Columbus Hilton on June 17th- 18th, 2026. The total cost is $4,455.04, and was approved.
