DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Aaron Flatter, Marshall Combs, and Matt Aultman were present at the July 3, 2025, meeting. The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building.

On the agenda were the regular session minutes from July 1st, which passed unanimously. The examination and allowance of bills were presented for July 3rd. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General fund, were $132,300.36. Outside General funds of $156,299.25 for a total of $278,599.61 were unanimously approved.

Tina McGillvary, OSU Extension Educator, provided an update on the happenings and upcoming events at the Extension office.

A fund transfer from the Commissioners to the JFS Children’s Services, a monthly obligation, was sent to Children’s Services for $61,199.84.

A Transfer of Appropriations for adult probation for $600.00 was completed to pay fuel and telephone bills.

Revenue and Appropriation increases and decreases for Adult Probation and D.C. Grants were presented. A revenue increase and Appropriation increase for the 2025 T-Cap grant for $178,251.00 were approved, as was $16,900.00 for the 2022 Gettysburg Critical Infrastructure Grant.   Adult Probation saw revenue and Appropriation increases from the 2025 Community Corrections Grant in the amount of $440,840.00.

Notice of Award was given to Walls Bros. Asphalt for the 2025 Darke County/Township resurfacing Project in the amount of $2,523,386.50. This will do 11 different Township roads and four different county roads. OPWC (Ohio Public Works Commission) will pay 32.9% of the project up to $900,000.00

A dismissal of a County Employee as a seasonal mower was approved. Two expense requests for the Darke County Common Pleas Court were approved. $1,078.56 was approved for Judge Fliehman to attend the September 11th and 12th Ohio Judicial Conference in Columbus. $927.46 was approved for the Judge to attend the Economic Institute for Judges in Arlington, Virginia, from October 19th through the 24th of this year.

As a reminder, all county offices are closed tomorrow in celebration of July 4th.

The session ended at 1:52 p.m. The next session is Tuesday, July 8th, at 1:30 p.m.
