DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ January 29, 2026, regular meeting started at 9:31 a.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Jan. 27th.
The Examination and Allowance of bills dated January 29th were presented. The General Fund was $52,361.60, and the Outside General Funds were $1,322,721.07, totaling $1,375,082.67. They were approved.
Darke County Grants requested a fund advance of $55.00 from the 2024 CDBG grant for Doss to set up remote work on a notebook. The Commissioners approved the advance.
Notice to proceed was given to Shinn Brosthers Inc. for the South High Street reconstruction in Arcanum. The completion date is August 1st, and the final payment date is August 15th.
An expense request for Jacob Pepple from the Sheriff’s Department to attend First Line Supervision at Clark State on April 7th-10th for $635.00 was approved.
A fixing of the date for the Airport Apron and Taxi Lane surface rehab was established. February 26th at 1:00 p.m. was set as the date and time for contractors to submit their bids. Bids will then be opened and read at 1:30 on that date.
Sealed Bids for 115 West 5th Street in Greenville for the sale of the property will be received on March 17th at 9:00 a.m. Bids will be opened at 9:30 a.m. Minimum bid price is $40,000. Individuals submitting bids will be given the opportunity to increase their bid price.
The Title Department and Juvenile/Probate Court transferred appropriations to cover term vacation payout. The Title Department transferred $500.00, and the court transferred $850.00
Vehicle maintenance agreements with Greenville, Ansonia, and Union City were reached. Routine maintenance will be charged at $65.00 per hour, and mechanical/electrical repairs will be charged at $140.00 per hour. The minimum time billed will be a quarter of an hour. All were approved.
The County will bill for all County vehicles at the set rates, and this was also approved.
