DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday at approximately 10:07 a.m., Darke County Deputies, along with Versailles Police, Ansonia Rescue, Versailles Fire and Rescue, responded to the intersection of SR 47 and Conover Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2010 Ford F-150, driven by Christopher Magoto (47) of Versailles, was westbound on SR 47, attempting to make a left turn onto Conover Road. Magoto failed to yield traveling into the path of an eastbound 2021 Peterbilt semi, driven by Anthony Cornett (29) of Saint Marys. Both vehicles collided in the intersection, causing the Peterbilt to travel off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest in a field. Magoto’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, coming to rest in the ditch.

Magoto was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight with non-life-threatening injuries. Cornett was treated and released from the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
