GREENVILLE – Thursday, March 20th, the Darke County Commissioners held their regular public session at 1:30 in the Administration building. All three Commissioners were present.
After approval of last Tuesday’s minutes, vouchers to be paid were the next order of business. County Bills, including “Then and Now” certificates totaled $90,785.45; Outside General Funds were $91,413.07, for a total of $182,198.52. The motion passed. Next, the Commissioners accepted a Fund Advance-Back from a 2022 CHIP-LAP(Lead Abatement Program) Grant totaling $43,830.00. This is an outside fund going back to the General Fund, it was unanimously accepted.
The Commissioners then approved two appointments to the Darke County Visitor’s Bureau Board of Trustees. The appointees are Carol Williams of the Winery at Versailles, and Erich Stachler of Huntington National Bank. Commissioner Combs who serves on the board spoke highly of both appointees and voiced his support for both. Both were accepted by the Board.
Farm Leases were approved for Brandt Farms, LLC by Tim Brandt, Pres. The South farm, totaling 78.9 acres, Airport farm totaling approximately 11 acres, and the Airport Farm West totaling approximately 38 acres were all approved. There was a slight modification to the agreement, making the first payment due May 1st instead of March 15th due to the late signing of the agreement. The other semi-annual installment will remain before December 15th 2025. Added also was the USDA Nutriment Management Plan to assure the land stays nutriently balanced.
The Commissioners will be accepting bids due by 1:00 p.m. on April 10, 2025 for DC Wagner Avenue Interior Renovations to the Jobs and Family Service Center. The facility has has had minimal renovation since its inception years ago. The upgrades and renovation are long overdue, and should increase functionality and efficiency.
Finally, the Commissioners approved an expense request for Tracey Drew, of the Darke County Common Pleas Court. The request is for the OACA Spring Conference in Huron, Ohio on May 7th-9th. The expense request was for $1,346.47, and was approved. There will be no meeting Tuesday,March 25th, as two Commissioners have other meetings. The meeting adjourned at 1:41 p.m.
