Darke County Commissioners – May 8, 2025

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Matt Aultman, Aaron Flatter, and Marshall Combs, were all present at the May 8, 2025, meeting. The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building.

On the agenda was the regular session minutes from last Tuesday, which passed unanimously, then the examination and allowance of bills were presented.. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General fund, were $53,035.73; Outside General funds of $325,569.48, for a total of $378,605.21, were unanimously approved for payment. 

Next, four fund advances for the Darke County Grants Dept. were approved. First was the 2025 Brownfield Grant for Treaty Lanes in the amount of $502.54, to cover Susan and Sally’s salary, then the 2023 Lead Safe Ohio Grant for Eicher Construction #1 invoice for MRTC and for Salary reimbursement for Susan and Sally in the amount of $131,380.59. The next advance was for the 2023 Arcanum Critical Infrastructure Grant for M&T construction pay app #6 for $141,532.58 for various streets in Arcanum, and salary reimbursements, and finally Gettysburg Critical Infrastructure Grant to cover the 1st quarter salary reimbursements for $6,919.38. 

Doss Business Systems presented a proposal for various notebooks and installation for various offices for the Commissioners to look at. The total was $29,486.68, including 55 hours of labor.

A local notification for a Major Concentrated Animal Feeding Facility (MCAFF) for Weaver Bros Dew Fresh eggs was submitted.  The County Engineer will review and advise the Commissioners on the impact on roads and bridges. If passed, this will allow Dew Fresh to increase the manure and processing design by 10%.

Transfers of Appropriations for the Commissioners and the Auditor were next. The Commissioners transferred $7150.00 to CORSA for program costs and the Auditor transferred $25,000.00 for a vehicle for real estate assessment.  Expense requests for the Animal Shelter and the Vehicle Maintenance Department were approved. Robert Bair is attending a necessary meeting on Search Warrant preparation and execution for $120.00, and Kyeran Meade for Real World training Series- Analytical approach to Diagnostic Problems for $95.00. This is a recommended class.

Finally, the Darke County Auditor has received a State bid for a new vehicle for a 2025 Ford Transit van from Beau Townsend Ford for $58,000.00.
