GREENVILLE – The Darke County Agricultural Society presented the 2024 Blue Ribbon Affair which recognized everyone who made the 2024 Great Darke County Fair possible. They provided a meal and amazing entertainment for the evening including a DJ, a live auction and door prizes.

The Darke County Agricultural Society also recognized the incoming 2025 Director, Jayden Hicks.
Former Director and Secretary, Brian Rismiller honored and recognized James Zumbrink for 36 years of service as Director of The Darke County Agricultural Society. He also shared some of his achievements while serving as a Director.
James Zumbrink served in many different ways during his time as a Director including 5 years as President, 2 years as Vice President, 7 years as Treasurer, and 22 Years as Director of the Board. He was also over the Band Show Spectacular for 35 years, gates and tickets for 33 years, building, ground and equipment maintenance for 31 years and many other departments and committees.
Marla Werner, Treasurer shared The Darke County Agricultural Society’s current balance of $169,655.28. They also currently have an outstanding line of credit of $200,000 that has gone toward the new Community Education Center.
During the evening, Tonya Clark and Sue Huston with Darke DD presented a recognition for the ‘Fair For All’ space from the Ohio House of Representatives and Representative Angie King for the partnership of Darke DD and The Darke County Agricultural Society.
“On behalf of Darke DD, we just want to thank the Darke County fair board, for allowing us the opportunity to renovate a space that makes the fair more inclusive for all. The partnership has been great and hopefully we can partner with future events.”
James Zumbrink, Director shared Gate Numbers for the 2024 Fair. The total amount that came in throughout the duration at the gate for the 2024 fair was $452,471, which is up nearly $19,487 from the 2023 fair.
Brian Rismiller also served as the auctioneer for the evening of the Live Auction. Auction items were provided by Bear Hollow Wood Carving, The Homestead Spud, and Indian Creek Distillery.
The Darke County Agricultural Society also drew for the Gun Raffle with proceeds going to the Junior Fair 4-H and Groundwork. There were only 75 tickets per gun with a total of seven guns.
The Darke County Agricultural Society wants to thank everyone who makes the fair possible each year and all the sponsors who allowed them to hold such a great event.
