TROY – On Tuesday, at 9:46 A.M., the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Troy Fire Department, recovered an adult male from the Great Miami River south of the Eldean Road bridge.
The discovery is believed to be connected to a call received by the Troy Police Department at 6:21 A.M. today reporting a despondent male had left his dog with a family member with possible intentions of self-harm.
A preliminary death investigation indicates the male subject caused a self-inflicted fatal injury. The Miami County Coroner had the remains removed to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for autopsy. The investigation remains ongoing.
Drones from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Troy Police Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol were utilized during the search.
