DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Darke County Sheriff’s Department received a call referencing a structure fire at 42 Little John Dr. in Sherwood Forest Trailer Park Community outside of Greenville.
Crews from New Madison Fire, Greenville City Fire, Arcanum Rescue and Darke County Deputies were dispatched to the scene.
When deputies arrived on the scene they reported heavy smoke showing. Additional fire stations were then requested for additional support from Arcanum, Greenville Township, Liberty Township and Pitsburg fire stations.
While crews were battling the fire, they located Beverly Lees (86) of Greenville, who was pronounced dead at the scene. was located inside the residence. Darke County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, the Darke County Coroner’s Office and the State Fire Marshals Office were dispatched to the scene.
At this time the fire remains under investigation.
