Commissioners talk JFS, Solid Waste District, and Township Cooperative Project

GREENVILLE- The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon to . Commissioners Matt Aultman and Marshall Combs were present.

The board approved Resolution (R-186-2023). This moves $60,161.59 from the county fund to JFS Children Services. This is a monthly bill the county fund pays.

The board then approved Resolution (R-188-2023). This is a new 2023 Littler grant and creates revenue and appropriation increases for the Darke County Solid Waste District.

Total revenue and appropriation increases are $43,925 each.

“This is the money that comes in for Trash Bash,” said Commissioner Aultman. “So we are getting ready for those funds for the next Trash Bash year, and the grant goes along with it.”

The board then approved a letter of recommendation for awarding the 2023 Darke County/Township Cooperative Resurfacing Project.

The recommendation read, “That an award be made to Walls Brothers Asphalt, based upon the unit prices bid, for the estimated amount of $2,627,995.30; which bid was 4.8 percent over the engineer’s estimate of $2,507,335.06. This contract will be for resurfacing and incidentals on 25.272 miles of local roads. 

Of the total contract, $1,352,854.80 is for 13.252 miles on eleven different Township roads in ten different townships, and $1,234,880.36 is for 12.02 miles on three different County roads.”
