GREENVILLE—The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Village of Gettysburg and Michael’s Resource & Treatment Center (MRTC). Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs and Larry Holmes were all present.
The board approved a certificate of appointment to appoint Dustin Haas as residential counselor at MRTC.
MRTC is a community-based treatment facility for adjudicated delinquent males located in Darke County, and surrounding counties.
It is operated by the Darke County Juvenile Court and is funded by county, state, and federal funds, as well as licensed by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
“The center is our in-housing program for troubled youth,” Commissioner Aultman said. “We accept kids ages 12 to 18 years old. We can have up to nine residents in one end, and then we have the ACES Program, which helps troubled youth with school. They come in and they help them with their school processes.”
He added that this appointment should get MRTC up to full staff.
Next, the board accepted a Letter of Recommendation from Access Engineering Solutions, LLC for bids received regarding the Gettysburg Gravity Sanitary Sewer project.
The letter recommends the board go with Durst Brothers Excavating for a base bid of $42,275.
The board will review the letter, and act on it in a future session.
