Commissioners sign 4-H Week proclamation

GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday to sign a proclamation declaring March 3-9, 4-H week. 

The proclamation reads: 

“Whereas, Ohio 4-H Week is a time to highlight 4-H programs and showcase strengths and real influence to improve the work around us; and 

Whereas, for over 120 years, 4-H has served America’s young people to make the best better; and offered educational programs that are designed to engage youth in a healthy learning experience, thereby increasing self-esteem and problem-solving skills; and 

Whereas, Darke County education programs address topics such as science, technology, health, safety, natural resources, communication, personal development, and global understanding; and 

Whereas, Darke County has a wide range of educational curricula encouraging youth to explore citizenship, leadership, community service, careers, and more; and 

Whereas, the Darke County 4-H program has contributed to the growth and development of our County’s youth;

We therefore proclaim the week of March 3-9th, 2024, as Darke County 4-H Week.”

All commissioners present signed.
