Commissioners recognize Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month

DARKE COUNTY – The regular session began at 12:44 on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the Administration Building. On the agenda were the regular session minutes from last Thursday, which passed unanimously, and the examination and allowance of bills. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates, in the amount of the General fund ($80,371.41) and outside general funds ($4271.36), for a total of $84642.77, were unanimously approved for payment.

Next, a fund transfer was amended with new language for the Ditch Assessments Dept. The dollar amount stayed the same, $65999.24, but was amended to read Ditch Maintenance Expense – first Quarter, 2025.

A fund advance back was next to the General fund for $118,118.00 for original advances done on 9/19/24 R-322, 10/22/24 R-375, 1/14/25 R-21, and partial 1/16/25 R-25. Another fund advance for AIM media was approved for $30.62 to cover a first-quarter bid request. Darke County Grants got a fund advance approved for first-quarter postage in the amount of $30.62. Darke County Jobs and Family Services received the approved amount for April support for Children’s Services of $60,854.75

The Commissioners then approved an addendum to the No. 4 lease with the Ohio Department of Public Safety for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. An increase of $13.14 was added to the lease amount, bringing the total monthly rent to $1,752.00.

Expense requests were approved for Darke County Grants for a recommended meeting for Susan Laux in the amount of $366.00.  Darke County Veterans mandatory meeting for five people to attend in the amount of $720.30, and for Darke County JFS, a mandatory meeting for nine people for $7,424.00

Finally, the Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Proclamation was added to the Journal.

The Commissioners next meet on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s office.
