GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matthew Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Aaron Flatter were all present.
Under Resolution (R-20-2025), the Examination and Allowance of Bills dated January 14, 2025, was read and approved. The General Fund was $95,638.89; outside general funds were $527,612.29, for a Grand Total of $623,251.18.
Scott Naas with Darke County Airport attended the opening of sealed bids for the Automated Weather Observing System Replacement. There was one bid received from J. Rankck Electric Inc. on January 13, 9:54 a.m. The estimated bid received was $225,000. The Darke County Engineer provided his estimate at 237,500.00.
Following the reading of the bid, Commissioners approved to move to bid for review.
Susan Laux, Community Development Department shared that this is a grant project through the ODOT Aviation Grant at 95%. Meaning the county will only be responsible for a very small percentage of the total cost.
Commissioners approved a Quote for Darke County Solid Waste and the service provided by Mary Wiard, Waste Reduction Planning Consultant for the preparation of the 2024 Annual District Report for a total of $1,550.00.
“She’s been doing this for us since the start of the Solid Waste District,” said Krista Fourman-Unger.
Designation of Solid Waste Facilities was presented by Krista Fourman-Unger, Darke County Solid Waste, and was also approved. This designation is for Randolph Farms Landfill in Modoc, Indiana.
Commissioners also approved an Agreement between Darke County Commissioners and Slagle Mechanical for a fall operating inspection in the amount of $6,600.00.
