Commissioners receive bids for Versailles and Gettysburg Projects

The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss Bids for the Village of Versailles Reed Road Project and the Village of Gettysburg Former Gettysburg School Partial Demolition Project, Darke County Airport fund advancements, a notice to bidders for the Village of Versailles North Central Area Waterline Improvements Project, and more.

Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The board heard and accepted bids for review. They heard seven bids for the Village of Versailles Reed Rd Project. These were Bancroft Construction for $1,395,000, Shinn Brothers Inc for $1,197,500, Tom’s Construction for $1,328,748, VTF Excavation LLC for $1,337,528.27, Enterprise Construction for $1,648,020, Performance Site Development $1,770,482.54, and one for $1,240,000

They also heard four bids for the Village of Gettysburg, former Gettysburg School – partial Demolition Project. These were Green City Demolition for $201,690, Advanced Demolition Services for $108,750, Mikesell Excavating for $289,400, and Benson Contracting for $127,000.

The board also approved two fund advances for the Darke County Airport to cover CMT Professional Services from 7-1 – 7/28. These will be funded back once the revenue is received from the grants.

For the FAA Terminal Construction Grant, Resolution (R-251-2023) was approved for $6,458.

For the Runway Rehab Grant, Resolution (R-252-2023) was approved for $6,119.60.

The board also approved a notice to bidders. This is a fixing of the date for when the commissioners will receive bids for the Village of Versailles North Central Area Waterline Improvements Project. Bids will be received at the offices of the Board of the Darke County Commissioners until 1 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023. Bids will be opened at 1:30 p.m. and publicly read aloud.

The board then approved Resolution (R-225-2023), a fun advance for the Local Jail Capital Projects Grant. This is $339,617.80  to cover Wilo Product’s Contract for August Services. This will be funded back once revenue is received from the grant.

The board also discussed a Darke County Survey. This is in partnership with the Ohio State University. This is a land use survey to get feedback from Darke County citizens. You can take this survey here:https://tinyurl.com/yszcbup7
