DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman and Marshall Combs were both present. Aaron Flatter was absent due to being in Columbus, OH for a conference.
Under Resolution (R-65-2025), the Examination and Allowance of Bills dated February 20, 2025, and February 25, 2025, was read and approved. The General Fund was $45,909.93; outside general funds were $117,206.83, for a Grand Total of $163,116.76.
Commissioners approved two business items for the Darke County Grants Office.
Commissioners approved the authorization of the PY23 Lead Safe Ohio Grant Funds Amendment. By Resolution R-413-2024 the Board of Darke County Commissioners awarded grant funds for a property located in Union City, Ohio.
“During the course of the construction, unforeseen changes to the scope of work were required and Rehabilitation Specialist, Candy Lammers has recommended approval of Change Orders #1 and #2 and the State Agency has concurred with the recommendations.”
The original contracted Project Amount with First Choice Lead Abatement was $36,400.00. Change Order #1 is an additional $13,800.00 to remove the deteriorated slate siding and Change Order #2 is an additional $5,900.00 to wrap fascia and window repairs. Project not to Exceed $56,100.00 and this amount is the Total Lead Safe Ohio Program Funds.
Commissioners also approved FY2024 Building Demo & Site Revitalization Program Community Authorization Amendment. There were three residential and commercial structures listed to replace a property that was not authorized to move forward with its new owner.
Rexneil Farms, Inc., Ansonia, OH, Matthew & Dawn Harrison, Hollansburg, OH, and David Leonard McGriff Revocable Living Trust.
Carla Allen, Darke County Job & Family Services attended to provide information on an Agreement between DC J&FS and Nesco Resource.
“Nesco Resource is a staffing recruitment agency and they will serve as our payroll provider for our youth work experience program. Nesco will ensure participants are compensated accurately with regards to tax deductions tech fund requirements and making sure that we are complying with federal and state laws,” said Allen.
A Certificate of Appointment was also approved for Jennifer Westfall effective March 26, 2025, for the position of Darke County Job & Family Services – Social Services Worker 2.
Darke County Commissioners will meet at 1:00 PM for the signing of the 2025 March DD Awareness Proclamation at the Birchwood Training Center. Following the signing of the Proclamation, the Commissioners’ Meeting will take place at 1:30 PM.
The Darke County Board of Commissioners meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 pm.
