Commissioners approve Castine sewer survey

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ November 4, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Oct. 30th. Then the examination and allowance of bills for November 4th were $51,558.98 for the General fund, $40,998.89 for outside funds, and a total of $92,557.87

A professional services agreement between Choice One Engineering and the Commissioners for the Castine Sewer Survey was approved as to form. The preliminary engineering report will cost $20,000.00. The agreement is good for 60 days, then it can be modified if necessary.

The Commissioners then transferred $3,700.00 for the expense of the CCAO Winter Conference.

The Commissioners and the Recorder had expense requests. The Recorders office for the Recorders’ Winter Conference for Hillary Holzapfel will cost approximately $691.00. The Commissioners had requests for the Winter Conference for Commissioners Flatter and Combs. Commissioner Flatter requested $882.80, and Commissioner Combs requested $535.00.

Children’s Services received their monthly Support for $61,199.84.

Five Fund advances for the Darke County Grants Dept. were introduced. First was the advance to cover Patriot Engineering’s bill from the 2025 Brownfield/Hamilton Grant for the Hamilton Property was $7,521.29. The AIM media bill advance was from the 2024 Demolition/Revitalization Grant advertising for $236.00. The 2025 Jail Assessment Grant was advanced $180.00 to cover AIM media for advertising, and the CDBG 2024 Grant advanced back $100.00 for manual online training.
