Commissioners approve agreement with Maguire Iron Inc for Gettysburg Water Tower

GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss Maguire Iron, Inc. for the Water Tower Replacement Project in the Village of Gettysburg. 

Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The board approved a standard form of agreement with Maguire Iron, Inc. for the Water Tower Replacement Project in the Village of Gettysburg. Maguire Iron, Inc. is contracted to construct a 100,000-gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank with an 8” waterline to service the tank in the Village of Gettysburg. Maguire Iron, Inc. will be paid a total of $1,303,000. $485,000 will come from the Dark County Community Dev. Block Grant (CDBG) and $818,000 will come from local and OPWC funds from the Village of Gettysburg. 

“This relates back to funding we received from our CDBG critical infrastructure grant,” Commissioner Matt Aultman said. 

The board also approved a notice to proceed and a notice of commencement to Maguire Iron, Inc. for the Water Tower Replacement project. This gives Maguire Iron, Inc. notice that construction will commence for this project. The project’s final completion will be December 31, 2024.
