Commissioners accept Box Hanger bids

DARKE COUNTY – Thursday, April 10th, all three Commissioners were present. The meeting started at 1:00 p.m. The Commissioner’s first order of business was the reading of session minutes from Tuesday, April 8th, and was approved by Commissioners Aultman and Combs. Commissioner Flatter abstained as he was not present at that meeting.

The session proceeded with the examination and allowance of bills with vouchers amounting to $24,937.57 out of the General Fund and outside funds of $164,260.16, for a total of $189,197.73; all were approved for payment.

Bids were accepted from three contractors for the new Box Hangar at the Darke County Airport. Brumbaugh Construction, Arcon, and Level M.B. were the only bids submitted for three different sizes of Hangar. The bids will be reviewed, and an award will be made at a later date. Sealed bids were also taken for the Darke County Wagner Avenue Renovation project. The due date will be April 17th at 1:00 p.m. at the Commissioner’s office.

A Revenue and Appropriation increase of $1,000,000.00 was requested by the Darke County Grants Dept. and the changes were approved. A transfer of appropriations was also approved by the Commissioners to pay for the Safety Conference in the amount of $200. An agreement between the Board of Directors of the Solid Waste Management District and the Darke County General Health District was also approved. The agreement is for five years. The total will be $205,000.00

The Auditor declared as junk an HP printer that was approved, and a contract between Cintas for uniform services was approved for the Commissioners, Animal Shelter, and the Airport. The contract starts today.  Finally, a certificate of appointment as approved for Mathew Pescura to become the Wastewater Treatment facility operator, effective April 14th of this year.  One expense request was approved for the Darke County Coroner’s office for Joe Van Vickle to attend the Ohio State Coroners Conference in Dublin, Ohio, May 8th to the 10th.

The next public meeting is Tuesday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m in the Commissioner’s office.
