GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Thursday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Aaron Flatter were all present.
Under Resolution (R-90-2025), the Examination and Allowance of Bills dated March 13, 2025, was read and approved. The General Fund was $24,385.95; outside general funds were $106,617.10, for a Grand Total of $131,003.05.
Commissioners approved four projects for Emergency HVAC Quotes – Habegger Complete HVAC Solutions – “The Plaza Updated.”
“We have the building on Wagner Avenue with several rooftop units that are failing or have failed. We need to replace those in an emergency form. Prices are also taking a significant jump as of April 1st on all of those units,” explained Dale Musser, Facilities and Safety Manager.
“We have a possibility of a tariff increase of April 1st of 25% and after that a possible 50-75% on this equipment.”
The first project is for One Stop for a 4-ton Small Pak for $21,288.00. The second project is for JFS for a 40-ton Unit for $70,259.00. The third project is for JFS for a 20-ton Unit for $47,378.00. The fourth project is for Edison for a 60-ton Unit for $96,323.00.
Darke County Commissioners were also presented with the replacement of the Command Trailer Dispatch Console for the Darke County Sheriff Department.
The command trailer is used and dispatched throughout the county for special events including Eldora, The Great Darke County Fair, and also Poultry Days. The dispatch trailers are also meant to be a backup for 911 if the 911 dispatch fails for any reason. The trailer would be used for any emergency situation.
P&R Communications presented the quote for the replacement of the consoles and all of the additional needs for the replacement consoles for $132,764.00.
“Public safety is of the utmost importance. With that comes the technology to be able to provide that public safety, so this would be a great asset for the sheriff’s office as they’re at events. Also, as Commissioner Altman said, the backup dispatch center is also used for this, which can be huge. We’ve had some natural disasters in the area recently, so that sheds even more light on the importance of having something like this for public safety,” said Commissioner Combs.
The Darke County Board of Commissioners meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 pm.
