WORTHINGTON, MN – Coach Montaous Walton, at 41, has been around the game for a long time and is still widely considered a young, energetic, aggressive recruiter in college baseball.

He has had past success and stops at Cincinnati Christian University, Central Christian College of Kansas, Wright State Lake Campus, Rust College in Mississippi, and Division 1 Mississippi Valley State University. Most recently, he spent a stint at Hamline University in St Paul, Minnesota.

Walton will continue coaching at Minnesota West College, a Competitive Program in Worthington, Minnesota, under Head Baseball Coach Joe Kinley. The Minnesota West Bluejays had a down season, and adding Walton, with his strong ability to recruit and winning pedigree, can be a huge deal and a Big Addition for coach Kinley.

“I just want to win and come over and do my part on the coaching staff to help the program become a contender,” Walton said. “I love the challenge and helping to turn the program around, similar to how we did at Cincinnati Christian University. We went from the bottom of the conference to a perennial contender, making the conference tournament back then. I hope to make a difference at Minnesota West College as well.”

Walton knows what it takes to win. He’s been to the College World Series twice in the last four seasons and has a proven record of signing talent to win.
