In Loving Memory of Clifford Ira Gibson, age 92, passed away on May 24, 2023 at Wayne Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on February 18, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, Clifford was the son of the late Alva and Daisy (Anthony Sharp) Gibson.
On July 13, 1950, Clifford married Mable Morrison and together they raised six children.
He is survived by his sons, Clifford Michael Gibson, Larry (Susan) Gibson and daughters,
Marcia (Byron) Utz and Mary Gibson. Additionally, Clifford is fondly remembered by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Daisy Gibson, as well as his siblings, Hazel and Forrest Hittle, Ruth Gibson, Juanita and Otto Kohler, Walter Sharp, Mary and Gerald Davis, Mildred and Bob Heiser, Maxine and Chalmer Cruze, Alva Allen Gibson, Marcelle and Bill Gray, Clyde Gibson, and Charles and Susan Gibson. Clifford also mourned the loss of his wife of 70 years, Mable, their sons, Darrell Gibson and Donald Gibson, along with his grandson, Adam Gibson.
Clifford was a genuine people person; his infectious personality drew others toward him. His scooter became his preferred mode of transportation as he navigated through town, visiting friends he met along the way.
A private celebration of life will be coordinated amongst Clifford’s family.
