CINCINNATI – After learning about young Karson Garno’s story and his drive to play the sport he loves, the Cincinnati Reds invited Karson and his family to Great American Ballpark on Tuesday for the royal treatment.

The Garno family got to tour a stadium and dugouts… and were on the field with the players in the VIP area watching the Reds practice. They also were given tickets to watch the Reds take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Karson told My County Link that his favorite moments of the day were when he got to retrieve a ball hit by his favorite player, Elly De La Cruz, and when Will Benson hit a homerun during the game.

Despite the Reds losing the game 7-1, Karson’s mom Megan Garno said, “The entire experience was amazing… We had the time of our lives!”

The fun has just begun for Karson, as he now looks forward to getting the opportunity to throw the first pitch at a Dayton Dragons game on July 24 at DayAir Ballpark.
