Hello, my name is Christoph Keller and I’m asking for your vote on Thursday, August 24 to elect me to The Darke County Fair board. I’ve been a part of the fair for as long as I can remember. Our family has been in the grain/feed business my whole life and it has always been a pleasure working with the youth, farmers, and our community. I absolutely love the fair and you can find me there every day and evening. I enjoy visiting with people, supporting the 4-H/FFA exhibitors, walking through every barn and display and of course our Grandstand performances. And, the food is good too! I won’t say my favorites, but it’s a good thing it’s just once a year.
I want to be on the fair board to help facilitate and bring positive changes to our fair board and our fair. I think being honest and hardworking are attributes that I can bring along with the willingness to hear from everyone and help create a fair where every exhibitor and every visitor has the best experience possible.
There are parts of the entire fair that I see where we could really make a positive impact. It takes people willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work and that’s the kind of person I am. I’m just not one to say things, I’m an action kind of person, and I like to get involved in my community and give back where I can.
As I mentioned, I’ve been participating in the fair my whole life and my wife and children participated as 4-H members. Throughout their 4-H careers they showed horses, dogs, and goats and also exhibited in the Domestic and Fine Arts Buildings. I would like to help facilitate each 4-H/FFA member as well as fair goers to have experiences at the fair to be positive ones and help provide their areas to function at their best.
It’s important to me and my family that we keep the roots of what our great fair represents while engaging the future with optimism, fairness, and growth in a positive way. Memories made at the fair last a lifetime and have created lifelong friendships. The youth are our future and 4-H/FFA in my opinion, represent what we would like to continue to see prosper at our fair and community.
I’m proud to be part of a community that builds each other up and I look forward to the opportunity of taking my next venture as one of your next fair board members.
You can vote on Thursday, August 24, from 9 AM – 7 PM on the north side of the grandstands in the Sheriff’s office building. You must have a voter’s ticket. If you have a fair pass voucher, you can exchange them at the Secretary’s office for a voter’s ticket, this must be done by Wednesday, August 23 by 8 PM to be eligible to vote on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
