CELINA – On Sunday night at approximately 11:40 pm, 39-year-old Dustin Lawson, of Celina, led Mercer County Deputies on a high-speed pursuit with speeds up to 100 mph, according to court documents.
A deputy attempted to initiate the traffic stop when Dawson sped by the deputy in a gray-colored Honda minivan. Dawson did stop and get out of his vehicle and “walk aggressively” towards the deputy’s cruiser. Once the deputy attempted to exit his vehicle, Dawson then got back into his minivan and sped off. He was able to elude deputies and officers until he made it to his residence at 751 Deford Street in Celina, where he was later located and placed into custody.
Dawson was transported to the Mercer County Jail and charged with Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree. He remains incarcerated on a $50,000 bond.
