Carol A. Funderburg (83) went to her heavenly home on August 6, 2024 at the EverHeart Hospice Center, Greenville Ohio. Carol was born in 1941 to the late William and Elizabeth (Libby) Maxwell of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, in 2017, as well as her parents, and sisters Jean (Jim) Troxell and Mickey (and the late Bill) Watson.

Carol graduated from Greenville High School in 1959 and attended Wittenberg University for one year before marrying Bill, moving to the farm and starting the family that she dedicated her life to. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. She was known for her gift of hospitality and her love of cooking and knitting. Her peanut butter squares and rolls were famous to her family and friends. Carol and Bill were avid basketball fans and she kept detailed score sheets for every game they attended.

Carol came to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ as an adult and spent many years attending and leading groups at Bible Study Fellowship in Richmond, Indiana. She was an avid bridge player for more than sixty years with a group of friends that had mostly been together since high school.

Carol is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: Anne (Mike) McKinney, Kathy (Matt) Littlefield, Susan (Dennis) Light, Bill (Shelly) Funderburg, Karin (Jason) Aslinger, as well as her 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren who were blessed to call her Mimi. Grandchildren: Hannah (Chad) Kingrey, Claire (Wes) Wirrig, Chloe McKinney, Libby McKinney, Addie (Darrek) Leis, Elliott (Kacey) Littlefield, Mitchell (Sydney) Littlefield, Celia (Ivan) King, Isabelle Littlefield, Ella (Chase) Jenkinson, Meredith Littlefield, Mac Littlefield, Chloe (Daniel) Edwards, Ellie (Dylan) Lyons, Micah (Micaela) Light, Jack (Elle) Funderburg, Emma Funderburg, Audrey (Jacob) Yetter, Jacob Aslinger, Hallie Aslinger.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the First Presbyterian Church 114 East Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Andrew Gilman officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM in the church.
