DARKE COUNTY – On Monday at approximately 9:52 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire, CareFlight, and assistance from Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement and Greenville Police Department, responded to the intersection of US 127 and Childrens Home Bradford Road for an injury crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2024 gray Toyota Rav-4 driven by Ashley Tellone (31) of Piqua, was traveling eastbound on Childrens Home Bradford Road and failed to stop at the intersection of US 127. The Rav-4 collided into the side of a semi-trailer being pulled by a 2020 maroon Kenworth, driven by Richard McWhorter III (30) of Ansonia. The Rav-4 was pinned under the trailer and dragged over 100 feet before coming to rest. Due to the severity of the impact, Englewood Towing responded to the scene and lifted the trailer off the Rav-4 before the driver could be mechanically extricated. Tellone was then transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight for suspected serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

This crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
