COLUMBUS – The WOAC was well represented at the OHSAA State Track & Field Event on Friday and Saturday. It was a historic season for the Ansonia boys’ team, winning the school’s first-ever team regional championship in any sport.
Ansonia’s Cade Shellhaas took the ultimate prize by capturing an individual state championship in the pole vault with a state meet record for DIII with a jump of 16’-6”.
Shellhaas also finished in 5th place in the 110m hurdles.
Ansonia sophomore London Reichert finished Runner-up in the Pole Vault with a jump of 12’-0.
Arcanum’s Faith Wooten was also State Runner-up in the shot put and 3rd in the Discus.
