DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Aaron Flatter, Marshall Combs, and Matt Aultman were present at the July 17, 2025, regular meeting. The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building. On the agenda was the regular session minutes from July 15th, which passed unanimously. The examination and allowance of bills were presented for July 17th. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General Fund, were $11,501.48. Outside General Funds of $214,464.64 combined for a total of $225,966.12 and was unanimously approved.
Auditor Carol Ginn submitted the Commissioner’s Budget for 2026. This included the amount approved by the Budget Commission for inside and outside millage. The Budget was accepted and approved unanimously. The 2025 tax Valuation for Darke County is $1,816,546,310.
Darke County Grants had a fund advance and a Revenue and Appropriation increase. The Fund Advance in the amount of $186,344.00 was to M&T for payment #7, final payment for the Arcanum street project. The Appropriation increase was $111,742.50 for the 2023 Arcanum critical infrastructure Grant.
H&H Environmental had a contract change as two properties, one in Greenville and the other in Versailles,619 Washington St., had more work than expected. In Versailles, eight windows and ACM caulk were removed for a total of $1,055.00, and in Greenville, the property, 7396 St. Rte. 118, needed 400 square feet of Transite pipe removed for $1,200.00.
Tracie Copeland was unanimously approved to be a Residential Counselor at the Michaels Resource and Treatment Center.
The Common Pleas and Municipal Court had expense requests approved. The Municipal Court requested $650.00 for Trevor Collins and Heather Varvel to attend a Mental Health and Crisis Intervention conference in Westerville, Ohio, on July 30th-31st. Judge Monnin has an AMCJO Conference she attended from July 12th to 16th. Both were approved. Common Pleas will send Tracy Drew to a Court management program from August 5th to 8th in Columbus. The estimated total is $1,063.74.
