Art Party Open House at Beanz Buttercream Bakery & Eatery

GREENVILLE – The Greenville Mural Committee invites the community to participate in an Art Party Open House at Beanz Buttercream Bakery & Eatery on Tuesday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The mural celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation will feature a prize-winning quilt square created by Ft. Greenville Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) members Virginia Kagey and Deb Nisonger that represents the state of Ohio in the National D.A.R. quilt.

The Art Party will offer the opportunity for Darke County residents to create art squares representing their 250th, patriotic or historic ideas to be used with the D.A.R. square in creating a quilt-like mural. Your square and signature on the mural will continue to be visible in our community long after the anniversary celebrations of July 4, 2026 are a fond memory.

The only thing that participants need to bring to this Art Party is their creative ideas. The Mural Committee will provide the necessary 12-inch square multi-media paper as well as red, grey, and blue markers, colored pencils, and crayons. Entrants may use paint on their own, but the Committee will not be providing that medium. The required entry forms will also be available at the Open House. Beanz will offer drinks and baked goods for purchase throughout the evening; otherwise, there is no charge for the Art Party. Those planning to attend may contact the Mural Committee at greenvilleohiomurals@gmail.com

For those unable to attend the Art Party Open House, entry forms and the special paper required for entry are available at all Darke County libraries, as well as at the Welcome Center in downtown Greenville. There is no cost to enter a design, and those participating in the contest may enter up to five designs, which should be dropped off at the libraries or the Welcome Center by July 3, 2025.
