PIQUA – Arcanum’s Marching Band was recently named Grand Champion out of 16 schools at Piqua High School’s OMEA Invitational. This is the first time since 1977 that Arcanum has taken the overall Grand Championship.
Arcanum is considered a Class C school, but is currently marching in Class B. The range of schools at this competition was Class C to Class AA.
Arcanum 64 members with band director Bryce Hopwood and assistant band director Jessica Berry.
The “Black Widow” themed show also received the following awards at the Piqua Competition:
- 1st Place Class B
- 1st Place Overall Class B/C
- Best Music Class B/C
- Best Visual Class B/C
This Saturday, they will be competing at the Tecumseh invitational, OMEA State Competition on 10/26, and will then be traveling to Indianapolis to perform at Bands of America on 11/14!
