ARCANUM – As seasons change, we’re wrapping up Winter and gearing up for Spring at the Arcanum Public Library.
Our Adult Winter Reading Program will be wrapping up at the end of the month of March. We hope you’ll stop in, sign up if you haven’t, take this opportunity to get some great books and reading time in and win some of our wonderful prizes this last month.
Storytime, on Thursdays at 10 AM, will continue our learning a new letter of the alphabet weekly with books, songs, and crafts. Our Afterschool Program, on Thursdays from 3:45-4:30 PM, has some fun new weekly themed opportunities like painting, Legos, Shamrock Science, and Cooking with Kids coming up this month.
We’re glad to still be able to offer a fitness class opportunity on Mondays at 9:30 AM with our Stretch and Tone Classes in March. All you need to stop in is to sign the waiver and bring some light weights, water, and a towel if you’d like.
Our Euchre Community Card Night has been a great way for those in the community to enjoy a time of social card playing and getting to know others. We plan to meet again on Monday, March 10th from 6-7:30 PM. If you’re able to sign up at the front desk in advance to help us plan, that’s great, and walk-ins are also welcome to join in the fun.
A Family Lego Night is planned for Thursday, March 6th from 5:30-7:00 PM. We’re excited to open some of our brand-new Lego kits that we just purchased through available grants. The kits are on various levels, so we hope to have something for you to enjoy as you stop by to help us build.
In preparation for Spring, we have some wonderful events available. On Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 AM, we will be hosting a Saturday Seed Starting Class. We will be highlighting our Seed Library available, discuss seeds best to start indoors, and offer the opportunity to create your own seed starting carton. Sign up at the Front Desk.
Adult Craft Night will be Thursday, March 13th from 5:30-7:00 PM as we create some Clothespin Sheep and Block Chicks to add to your Spring home décor. Sign up at the front desk to help us plan accordingly with materials.
We’re delighted to have the opportunity to host The Ohio State University Extension Office of Darke County on Friday, March 28th at 2:00 PM for a Spring Gardening Program. We hope this will give our patrons and the community the opportunity to learn about various gardening techniques for our climate, garden planning and preparations, and how to make the most of your space for a successful gardening season ahead. Sign up at the front desk is preferred, but all are welcome to stop in.
If you have any questions about our upcoming events or wish to sign up by phone, please call the Arcanum Public Library at 937-692-8484. We look forward to seeing you stop by!
