“I was extremely proud of my girls,” said Arcanum coach, Jacie Holman. “I told my girls we just made a big statement right before the tournament draw. We could have easily come in today and just laid down but we fought with them.”

The Lady Cardinals opened with a 25-15 first-set win in a match the Lady Trojans played well.

Coach Holman took time to talk about her Lady Trojans’ confidence in the upcoming OHSAA DIII tournament.

“I look at them sometimes and I’m like, girls are we excited,” Coach Holman said. “I kind of get those stares but I think they are so serious sometimes that they don’t understand the message that we’re getting across – like you just got a lot of points on a state team so I am hoping that gives them a good boost right before tournament time. I feel good going into the tournament when we have that kind of score against Bremen.”
