ANSONIA – The Ansonia Lady Tigers cheerleading program hosted the 2024 Tigers Spirit Explosion cheerleading competition, with a large crowd filling the high school gymnasium under the direction of Ericka Kramer.
“It was a successful day,” said Kramer. “A long day, but a lot of good dancing and cheerleading went on today.”
The Ansonia High School Hip Hop team was the big winner of the day, earning the Grand Champion trophy, but not before the music stopped playing early in their routine.
“The girls did really well with their music stopping, and being able to go through that routine with no mistakes was phenomenal,” Kramer stated. “Exactly what we wanted.”
Ansonia Superintendent PJ Burgett took in the day along with Jr./Sr. High School Principal Dan Barns.
“Our superintendent and Jr./Sr. High School principal was here and are very supportive,” Kramer said. “It means a lot to the girls to have that support from the administration.”
“I want to thank all the families; we couldn’t have made this day happen without them,” added Kramer. “There are many people behind the scenes helping you don’t see.”
Funds from the day all go back to the family and the cheerleading program.
