DARKE COUNTY – The employees of the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, through the support of the Darke County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Patrol, have announced plans to host the annual “Warm Winter Wear for Darke County Children” program.
This year, the program will be making a change in how the parents/children pick up the coats. We will be providing the children with coats on Saturday, October 11, 2025 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and noon.
New hats, gloves and coats are currently being accepted in the Investigations Office of the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, we are specifically in need of boys coats, sizes 6/7, 7, and 8, and girls’ coats, sizes 14, 14/16, 16, and 18. There is always a need for children’s and youth-sized hats and gloves.
Last year, thanks to generous donations from caring individuals and businesses, we were able to provide 242 children with new coats for the winter. Please share with us the joy of the season by helping the children of Darke County.
Monetary donations are accepted at any time throughout the year. All checks should be made payable to Darke County Children’s Warm Winter Wear and mailed in c/o Darke County Sheriff’s Office, 5185 County Home Rd., Greenville, OH 45331. All items collected will be distributed to local children who are in need.
Anyone with questions about the project may contact the Darke County Sheriff’s Office at 937-547-4609 and speak to Stacey McMiller. You may also text Stacey at (937) 670-1133 with questions.
